About Us

Unbroken Dog Ventures was founded in 2023 to invest in the backbone of the American economy, American Small Business. American Small Business is the heart of the American Dream and how the US grew to attract those from around the world to our great country. While people say the American Dream is dying, we say it is still alive and well. Maybe harder to find these days, but small business still accounts for nearly half of the US economy and is the backbone of our communities. We represent the next generation of entrepreneurs who are hungry to get their hands dirty to stand on the shoulders of the giants who came before. We are on a mission to find small businesses, reward the previous generation of entrepreneurs, and maintain, preserve, and build on top of their legacies while strengthening the communities they serve.  

Unbroken Dog Ventures is inspired by the story of Louis Zamperini captured in the book Unbroken by Laura Hildenbrand and by the attitude, tenacity, and loyalty of man's best friend. Unbroken Dog Ventures is guided by 6 core values: Dignity, Faith, Excellence, Loyalty, Positivity, and Tenacity. 

Tyler Kohman

Tyler was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio before heading to Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh where he played football and studied civil engineering and public policy. While at CMU, he interned on Capital Hill on the House of Representatives' Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. After graduation, he moved to Atlanta, Georgia to pursue his civil engineering career. After receiving his professional engineering license, he started his MBA at Georgia Tech and worked for The Home Depot's leadership development program. Tyler was surrounded by entrepreneurs and community builders throughout his childhood who inspired his journey join their ranks. Entrepreneurship is more than owning a company but is about building stronger communities they serve.
